The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 30, 2022 SPR22/0626 Allison Mondello Primary RAO Massachusetts State Police 470 Worcester Rd Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Ms. Mondello: I have received the petition of Sean Sheridan appealing the nonresponse of the Massachusetts State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 23, 2022, Mr. Sheridan requested: [1] … any list of towing companies who are preferred or approved or relied upon by the Middleboro D4 barracks. [2] … any towing contracts that involve … towing. [3] … any records responsive to the towing of vehicles on May 15, 2021… in Bridgewater… which tow trucks did respond to… including but not limited to, any call record or tow record for the event. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Sheridan petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0626, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Sheridan with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. Mr. Sheridan may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
