G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 18, 2022, Mr. Stoecklein requested “any records, including the Incident Report, or the Offense Report, and records of any interviews related to” a specified incident. The Department responded on March 22, 2022, providing one responsive record, and citing Exemption (a) of the Public Records Law for withholding another. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Stoecklein appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Based on a phone conversation between this office and the Department on March 25, 2022, I understand that the Department intends to provide a supplemental response to Mr. Stoecklein. Accordingly, said response must be provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
