Murray Supervisor of Records April 12, 2022 SPR22/0726 Lieutenant Joseph Casey Medford Police Department 100 Main Street Medford, MA 02155 Dear Lieutenant Casey: I have received the petition of Wayne Napolitano appealing the nonresponse of the Medford Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 10, 2022, Mr. Napolitano requested a particular police report relating to a murder that occurred on a specific date. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Napolitano petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0726, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that a representative from the Department intends on providing a written response to Mr. Napolitano. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Napolitano with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Access Regulations and this order within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Napolitano may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days.
