The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records March 31, 2022 SPR22/0730 Lieutenant Kevin Ware Braintree Police Department 282 Union Street Braintree, MA 02184 Dear Lieutenant Ware: I have received the petition of James Murphy appealing the nonresponse of the Braintree Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 7, 2022, Mr. Murphy requested “… police reports generated due to a complaint of breaking and entering at [identified address] … Braintree… on [identified date] … as well as the report generated an hour later by a noise complaint against me, by my neighbor …” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Murphy petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0730, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department responded to Mr. Murphy with a response dated March 31, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Murphy may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, ' . . ', , -.' ·· ~ - - . . Rebecca S.
