The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 8, 2022 SPR22/0784 Maria F. Romero, Esq. Assistant General Counsel Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department 200 Nashua Street Boston, MA 02114 Dear Attorney Romero: I have received the petition of Grace Ferguson appealing the nonresponse of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 18, 2022, Ms. Ferguson requested, “…records concerning sworn officers of the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department dating back to January 1, 2010: • All internal affairs cases of domestic violence, and • All internal affairs cases of sexual violence, including but not limited to rape and sexual assault.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Ms. Ferguson petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR22/0784, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Ms. Ferguson with a response dated March 25, 2022. In light of the Department’s March 25th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Ferguson may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
