The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 26, 2022 SPR22/0859 Chief William Gregoire East Brookfield Police Department 122 Connie Mack Drive Brookfield, MA 01515 Dear Chief Gregoire: I have received the petition of Christine Raymond appealing the nonresponse of the East Brookfield Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 23, 2022, Ms. Raymond requested records “…relating to interactions with persons who are not US citizens (whether that status is perceived or confirmed) and policies or practices relating to the Department’s interactions with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) … were in effect on January 20, 2021, and (2) those that are in effect currently.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Raymond petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0859, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department provided Ms. Raymond with a response dated April 19, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s lack of written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Raymond may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
