The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 19, 2022 SPR22/0886 Michael Ortiz Staff Counsel for Student Services City of Lowell Public Schools 151 Merrimack Street, 4th Floor Lowell, MA 01852 Dear Mr. Ortiz: I have received the petition of Marion J. King, of SPEDWatch, Inc. appealing the non- response of the Lowell Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 16, 2022, Ms. King requested a copy of the “Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Letter(s) of Finding for complaint PRS 4242, redacted of any confidential information.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. King petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0886, was opened as a result. Subsequent to this appeal being opened, on April 19, 2022, the School provided a response, including a copy of the responsive record. Accordingly, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. King may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Marion J.
