The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records April 19, 2022 SPR22/0900 Robert Mullaney Superintendent Millis Public Schools 245 Plain Street Millis, MA 02054 Dear Superintendent Mullaney: I have received the petition of Gary Pelletier, appealing the response of the Millis Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 9, 2022, Mr. Pelletier requested emails sent between School employees and three named persons. On March 22, 2022, the School responded. On March 22, 2022, Mr. Pelletier clarified that he was not seeking student records but emails between the named persons and School employees. On April 4, 2022, the School provided a response. Unsatisfied with School’s response Mr. Pelletier petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/0900, was opened as a result. Based upon an email correspondence between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a School representative, it is my understanding that the School intends on providing a subsequent response to Mr. Pelletier. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide Mr. Pelletier with a response to his request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Pelletier may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
