Director of Public Records Records Access Officer City of Boston One City Hall Square Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of David Weimer appealing the nonresponse of the Boston Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 28, 2022, Mr. Weimer requested the following records: 1) Any contracts between the Boston Police Department or City of Boston and [named person] or any company owned or run by [named person] in 2021 or 2022. 2) Any or all documents submitted by [named person] including… documents referred to in the "Proposal to Assist the Boston Police Department in Establishing a Staffing Analysis Process for Patrol Using Organizational Development Principles" submitted by [named person] to the Boston Police Department on 18 June 2021. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Weimer petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1023, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Weimer with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. Mr. Weimer may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
