Williams, Sr. appealing the nonresponse of the Medford Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 9, 2022, Mr. Williams requested “…my entire, complete file. Specifically, all records, statements, field notes, home files, communications, personal files on all parties involved in investigation(s), including everything related to the shooting death of [identified individual].” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Williams petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1076, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that a representative from the Department intends on providing a written response to Mr. Williams. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Williams with a response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
