The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records June 3, 2022 SPR22/1193 Jennifer Voyik Acting Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Business Operations South Hadley School Department 116 Main Street South Hadley, MA 01075 Dear Ms. Voyik: I have received the petition of Brian Steele of the Daily Hampshire Gazette appealing the response of the South Hadley Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 25, 2022, Mr. Steele requested “any records from 2022 that contain references to” a named individual and references to a list of specified words and phrases. The School responded on May 16, 2022, providing a fee estimate. Objecting to the fees, Mr. Steele appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Based on an email from the School on June 2, 2022, I understand that the School intends to provide a supplemental response to Mr. Steele. Accordingly, said response must be provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. If issues remain unresolved, Mr. Steele may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s supplemental response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
