The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records June 7, 2022 SPR22/1211 Meg Dussault, Ed.D. Assistant Superintendent Director of Arts and Community Education Sharon Public Schools 77 Pond Street Sharon, MA 02067 Dear Dr. Dussault: I have received the petition of Mira Belenkiy appealing the response of the Sharon Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 11, 2022, Ms. Belenkiy requested a copy of the request sent by another resident concerning the correspondences between the Sharon School Committee and two named residents, which was to include full email headers. On May 16, 2022, Ms. Belenkiy modified her request to include “all responsive documents given to the unnamed requestor in response to his/her request.” The School responded on May 16 and May 20, 2022. Unsatisfied with the School’s responses, Ms. Belenkiy petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1211, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a School representative, it is my understanding that the School intends on providing a further response to Ms. Belenkiy. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide Ms. Belenkiy with said response to her request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law, and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Belenkiy may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
