The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records June 13, 2022 SPR22/1248 Allison M. Cogliano, Esq. City of Brockton Assistant City Solicitor 45 School Street - City Hall Brockton, MA 02301 Dear Attorney Cogliano: I have received the petition of Mary Charles appealing the response of the City of Brockton (City) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On April 13, 2022, Ms. Charles requested “all records of costs and or income, or taxes, or impact fees for all marijuana businesses in the City.” The City responded on the same day, seeking clarification, and responded again on April 27, 2022, indicating that it would provide a further response by May 18, 2022. Having received no further response, Ms. Charles appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of this appeal, I learned that the City provided a supplemental response. In an email on May 31, 2022, an attorney for the City provided Ms. Charles with records responsive to her request. As this appeal was opened based on the City’s April 27th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. If issues remain unresolved, Ms. Charles may further appeal the substantive nature of the City’s May 31st response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
