The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records June 10, 2022 SPR22/1256 Allison Mondello Primary RAO Massachusetts State Police 470 Worcester Rd Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Ms. Mondello: I have received the petition of Joshua F. Grammel, Esq. of the Committee for Public Counsel Services appealing the nonresponse of the Massachusetts State Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 9, 2022, Attorney Grammel requested, “[a] list of all troopers wearing body cameras on August 31, 2021 [and] copies of any documents that reference which troopers, if any, were wearing body cameras on August 31, 2021.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Attorney Grammel petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1256, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Attorney Grammel with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. Attorney Grammel may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Joshua F. Grammel, Esq.
