The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records June 22, 2022 SPR22/1329 Superintendent Priya Tahiliani Everett Public Schools 121 Vine Street Everett, MA 02149 Dear Superintendent Tahiliani: I have received the petition of Steven Fitzgerald appealing the nonresponse of the Everett Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). In his letter to the School dated May 18, 2022, Mr. Fitzgerald states, “[t]his is a public records request for all communications received from and sent to Malden Transportation for the request of an additional percentage of their contract with the Everett Public Schools. This request is for the fuel surcharge.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Fitzgerald petitioned this office, and this appeal, SPR22/1329, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the School has provided Mr. Fitzgerald a response to his request for records. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide Mr. Fitzgerald with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us.
