Cyr Deputy Chief/Operations University of Massachusetts Police 585 East Pleasant Street Amherst, MA. 01007 Dear Deputy Chief Cyr: I have received the petition of Andrew Quemere appealing the response of the University of Massachusetts Police (UMass) to his request for public records. G. L. c. 66, §10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 2, 2022, Mr. Quemere requested, “[a]ll police internal affairs data submitted to the Peace Officer Standards and Training Commission. Please provide data for both active officers and transferred officers.” UMass responded on June 14, 2022. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Quemere petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1380, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that UMass provided a further response on June 17, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of UMass’ June 14th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Quemere may appeal the substantive nature of UMass’ response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
