Nicolaisen Executive Assistant Amesbury Police Department 19 School Street Amesbury, MA 01913 Dear Ms. Nicolaisen: I have received the petition of Kleber Ceron appealing the response Amesbury Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66 § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 12, 2022, Mr. Ceron requested two incident reports, one of which was a welfare check on a minor and the other was a restraining order. On June 13, 2022, the Department responded. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Ceron petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1455, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a Department representative, it is my understanding that the Department intends on providing a further response to Mr. Ceron. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Ceron with a response to his request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law, and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Ceron may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
