The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records July 7, 2022 SPR22/1466 James M. Casey Town Clerk Town of Braintree 1 JFK Memorial Drive Braintree, MA 02184 Dear Mr. Casey: I have received the petition of Stephen Patterson appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Braintree (Town) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 2, 2022, Mr. Patterson requested “… information that will explain the due dates of all money collected by the Tax Collectors Office from residents… and any amounts that may be collected from residents because of their habituating in the town of Braintree … of what they own from today until May 1, 2023.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Patterson petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1466, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Town has provided a response. As such, the Town is ordered to provide Mr. Patterson with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. Mr. Patterson may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Rebecca S.
