Murray Supervisor of Records July 8, 2022 SPR22/1490 Allison Mondello Massachusetts State Police 470 Worcester Road Framingham, MA 01702 Dear Ms. Mondello: I have received the petition of Joshua Grammel appealing the nonresponse of the Massachusetts State Police (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 16, 2022, Mr. Grammel requested: 1) Compliance Audit Reports submitted by the submitted by the State Police Middleboro Barracks from January 2016 to present 2) Quarterly Racial Disparity Stop Evaluation Reports submitted by the State Middleboro Barracks from January 2016 to present 3) Quarterly Racial Disparity Search Evaluation Reports submitted by the State Police Middleboro Barracks from January 2016 to present 4) Work Improvement Plans associated with numbers 2 and 3 above for [named person]. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Grammel petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1490, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Department has provided a response. As such, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Grammel with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Access Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. Mr. Grammel may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
