The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records July 11, 2022 SPR22/1558 Stephen W. Shorey, Esq. Senior Counsel, Public Records and Records Management MassDOT / MBTA Office of General Counsel 10 Park Plaza, Suite 3510 Boston, MA 02116 Dear Attorney Shorey: On July 6, 2022, this office received your petition on behalf of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (Department) seeking an extension of time to produce records. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c). As required by law, it is my understanding that the Department furnished a copy of this petition to the requestor. Id. On March 30, 2022, Attorney Steven Guard of Guard Law LLC requested “…copies of public records of the winning bid from outfront media for the MassDOT outdoor advertising opportunity along Route 3 southbound, in Rockland, Massachusetts.” In its letter to this office dated July 8, 2022, the Department states, “…we were able to send a response earlier today that included redacted records… Therefore, I can withdraw the time petition I submitted on July 6th.” Conclusion In light of the above, it is unnecessary to opine on the Department’s petition seeking an extension of time to produce records. Accordingly, per the Department’s request to withdraw its petition, I will consider this matter closed. Sincerely, Rebecca S. Murray Supervisor of Records cc: Steven M. Guard, Esq. William J.
