The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records July 14, 2022 SPR22/1572 Sheriff James Cummings Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department 6000 Sheriff’s Place Bourne, MA 02532 Dear Sheriff Cummings: I have received the petition of Patrick Mason appealing the nonresponse of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Mr. Mason requested 911 calls/calls and Mashpee Fire Department radio transmissions as it related to a specifically identified call for service. Having received no response, Mr. Mason petitioned this office. Subsequently, this office was notified that a response was provided, dated July 14, 2022. Whereas this matter was opened based upon the Department’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Mason may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
