The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records July 28, 2022 SPR22/1639 Patty Dubey Town Clerk Town of Westford 55 Main Street Westford, MA 01886 Dear Ms. Dubey: I have received the petition of Richard MacKenzie appealing the response of the Town of Westford (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 26, 2022, Mr. MacKenzie requested, “[a]ll text messages to and or from [named persons] for the months of January 1 through March 31, 2022, to any/all individual on the Westford Police force.” The Town responded on June 17, 2022. Unsatisfied with the Town’s response, Mr. MacKenzie petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1639, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Town provided a further response on July 28, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Town’s June 17th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. MacKenzie may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s July 28th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Richard MacKenzie One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
