The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records August 10, 2022 SPR22/1736 Kyle P. Heagney Chief of Police Attleboro Police Department 12 Union Street Attleboro, MA 02703 Dear Chief Heagney: I have received the petition of James Larson appealing the response of the Attleboro Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 11, 2022, Mr. Larson requested “the police report regarding the death of [a named individual] on July 5, 2022.” On July 13, 2022, the Department responded. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Larson petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1736, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department intends to provide a further response to Mr. Larson. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Larson with said response, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Larson may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
