G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 10, 2022, Ms. Houston requested the following records: Any and all video surveillance of the C. Carlos Correiro Immigration Detention Center on May 1, 2020 that the Attorney General’s office reviewed for its report titled ‘Investigation into the Events of May 1, 2020 at the C. Carlos Correiro Immigration Detention Center, Unit B, Bristol County Sheriff's Office’ (published 12/15/20). The AGO responded on June 24, 2022. Unsatisfied with the response, Ms. Houston petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/1747, was opened as a result. Based on a conversation between a Public Records Division senior attorney and an AGO representative, it is my understanding that the AGO intends on providing a further response to Ms. Houston. Accordingly, the AGO is to provide Ms. Houston with a response to the request in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Houston may appeal the substantive nature of the AGO’s response within ninety (90) days.
