G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv). As required by law, it is my understanding that the Department furnished a copy of this petition to the requestor. G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv). On August 2, 2022, Paul Singer requested: [A] copy of MBTA records of customer complaints filed using the online and app-based complaint system. I assume these complaints are aggregated in a database; I am requesting a copy of that database covering the time period of Jan. 1, 2021 to present. I am NOT seeking personal information/contact information of the complainants. I am requesting the substance of the complaint, the subject, and any indication of how MBTA responded. In an email to this office dated August 17, 2022, Mr. Singer states, “[w]e are withdraring our Public Records request in this matter.” Conclusion In light of the above, it is unnecessary to opine on the Department’s petition seeking permission to charge for time spent segregating or redacting responsive records.
