The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records September 16, 2022 SPR22/2009 Lorraine A.G. Tarrow, Esq. Records Access Officer Office of the Attorney General One Ashburton Place, 20th Floor Boston, MA 02108 Dear Attorney Tarrow: I have received the petition of Craig Shibley appealing the response of the Office of the Attorney General (AGO) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On July 14, 2022, Mr. Shibley requested numerous documents and submitted his appeal regarding the following records: “[a]ttorneys currently assigned to the [Division of Open Government] and; [t]heir assigned email accounts[.]” Previous appeal This request was the subject of a previous appeal. See SPR22/1765 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (August 12, 2022). The AGO responded on August 26, 2022. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Shibley petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2009, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division senior attorney and an AGO representative, it is my understanding that the AGO intends on providing a further response to Mr. Shibley. Accordingly, the AGO is to provide Mr. Shibley with said response in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Shibley may appeal the substantive nature of the AGO’s response within ninety days.
