The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records September 21, 2022 SPR22/2066 Janet M. Murphy Town Clerk City of Watertown 149 Main Street Watertown, MA 02472 Dear Ms. Murphy: I have received the petition of Julie Ahern-Pugilese appealing the response of the Town of Watertown (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 30, 2022, Ms. Ahern-Pugilese requested “…all public information regarding how the Town calculates [her] water and sewer bills during the year, 2013 to 2021.” Prior Appeal The requested records were the subject of a prior appeal. See SPR22/0715 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (April 11, 2022). In my April 11th determination, I found that the Town had provided a response to Ms. Ahern-Pugilese on February 7, 2022, and closed the appeal. Unsatisfied with the Town’s response, Ms. Ahern-Pugilese petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2066, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Town responded to Ms. Ahern-Pugilese’s request with a further response sent to this Office on September 19, 2022. This Office will forward the requested records to Ms. Ahern-Pugilese. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s February 7th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Ahern-Pugilese may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Julie Ahern-Pugilese One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
