The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records September 19, 2022 SPR22/2088 Deanna Fruci Walpole Police Department Records Department 50 South Street Walpole, MA 02081 Dear Ms. Fruci: I have received your petition on behalf of the Walpole Police Department (Department) seeking permission to charge for time spent segregating or redacting responsive records, G. L. c. 66, § 10(c); G. L. c. 66, § 10(d)(iv). As required by law, the Department furnished a copy of this petition to the requestor. G. L. c. 66, § 10(c). On September 12, 2022, Ella Costa, of Chiro Center of Norwood, requested various accident reports. Subsequently, I learned that the request for records has been withdrawn. In an email from Dr. Jared Gailes, of Chiro Center of Norwood, to the Department, Dr. Gailes states that he will “no longer require the requested records from” the Department, and that Ms. Costa has been informed of this. In light of the request for records being withdrawn on September 14, 2022, I decline to opine on this matter. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(2)(b). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Ella Costa One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832 • Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
