O. Box 807 Middleton, MA 01949 Dear Ms. Grosky: I have received the petition of Adam Bradley appealing the nonresponse of the Essex County Sheriff’s Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 16, 2022, Mr. Bradley requested, “… all records, documents, reports, notes, dispatch logs, dispatch reports, interstate agency records, reports related to the search of [his] vehicle by the Essex County Sheriff’s K-9 officers, in the city of Lynn, Massachusetts prior to the year 2012.” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Bradley petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2110, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Department intends on providing a written response to Mr. Bradley. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Bradley with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Bradley may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
