Records Access Officer Bristol County Sheriff’s Office 400 Faunce Corner Road North Dartmouth, MA 02747 Dear Attorney Rousseau, I have received the petition of Kevin Smith appealing the nonresponse of the Bristol County Sheriff’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 23, 2022, Mr. Smith requested the following records: 1. All communications between [named] Sheriff or any employees or agents of the Office, and any other party that contain the words “Claremont Institute,” “Sheriff Fellows,” or “Sheriff Fellowship” in the years 2020-2022. 2. Any application materials for the Claremont Institute's Sheriff Fellowship. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Smith petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2319, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it is unclear whether a response has been provided. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide Mr. Smith with a response to the request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days.
