The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records October 27, 2022 SPR22/2340 Rodney C. Collins Town Manager Town of Mashpee 16 Great Neck Road North Mashpee, MA 02649 Dear Mr. Collins: I have received the petition of Meredith L. M. Kilpatrick appealing the response of the Town of Mashpee (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 14, 2022, Ms. Kilpatrick requested “communications (email & text)” from a list of six named individuals. The Town responded on September 30, 2022, providing numerous records. Unsatisfied with the Town’s response, and claiming the Town possesses additional responsive records, Ms. Kilpatrick appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Based on a telephone conversation between this office and a representative for the Town on October 18, 2022, I understand that the Town intends to provide a supplemental response to Ms. Kilpatrick. Accordingly, said response must be provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. If issues remain unresolved, Ms. Kilpatrick may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s supplemental response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Meredith L. M.
