The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records November 14, 2022 SPR22/2455 Michelle Laranjo Administrative Assistant Medfield Police Department 112 North Street Medfield, MA 02052 Dear Ms. Laranjo: I have received the petition of Jayson Howland, on behalf of Joy Hurley, appealing the response of the Medfield Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 14, 2022, Ms. Hurley requested, “[i]incident report, 911 call and EMT report for [a named person at a named location].” On October 21, 2022, the Department responded. Unsatisfied with the Department’s response, Mr. Howland petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2455, was opened as a result. Subsequently I learned that the Department responded to Ms. Hurley’s request with a further response sent on November 4, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Department’s October 21st response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. Hurley may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s November 4th response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Joy Hurley One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
