Legal Associate Office of Management University of Massachusetts Medical School 55 Lake Avenue North Worcester, MA 01655 Dear Dr. Harris: I have received the petition of Colman Herman, appealing the response of the UMass Chan Medical School (UMass Chan) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 20, 2022, Mr. Herman requested, “[r]ecords of all the expenses [a named person] has incurred in his capacity as … of the University of Massachusetts Medical School for the period October 1, 2021 to September 30, 2022 …” UMass Chan responded on October 27, 2022. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Herman appealed and SPR22/2460 was opened as result. Subsequently, I learned that UMass Chan provided a further response on November 2, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of UMass Chan’s October 27th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Herman may appeal the substantive nature of UMass Chan’s November 2nd response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
