The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records November 16, 2022 SPR22/2520 Eric B. Hogberg, Esq. General Counsel Office of the Chief Medical Examiner 720 Albany Street Boston, MA 02118 Dear Attorney Hogberg: I have received the petition of Alex F. Scesny appealing the nonresponse of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 26, 2022, Mr. Scesny requested “… all records which pertains to an incident at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, performed on [specific dates in] 1996…” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Scesny petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2520, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Office provided Mr. Scesny with a response dated November 7, 2022. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Scesny may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Alexa F.
