The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records November 21, 2022 SPR22/2538; SPR22/2539; SPR22/2540 Caesar P. Cardozo, Esq. General Counsel Boston Housing Authority 52 Chauncey Street Boston, MA 02111 Dear Attorney Cardozo: I have received three petitions from Rosalina Petronino appealing the responses of the Boston Housing Authority (Authority) to three requests for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On October 4, 2022, Ms. Petronino requested “emails to and from [a named individual and company] from January 2018 to present,” and on October 18, 2022, submitted two requests for “emails to and from” other named individuals and companies “from January 2020 to present.” The Authority responded to all three requests on November 2, 2022, citing Exemption (c) of the Public Records Law for withholding responsive records. Unsatisfied with the Authority’s response, Ms. Petronino petitioned this office and these appeals, SPR22/2538, SPR22/2539, and SPR22/2540, were opened as a result. Subsequent to the opening of these appeals, I learned that the Authority provided a supplemental response by email to Ms. Petronino and this office on November 18, 2022. As these appeals were opened based on the Authority’s November 2nd response, I will now consider these administrative appeals closed. Ms. Petronino may further appeal the substantive nature of the Authority’s November 18th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Rosalina Petronino One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832 • Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
