The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records November 23, 2022 SPR22/2687; SPR22/2688 Kathleen A. Deree Town Clerk Town of Weymouth 75 Middle Street Weymouth, MA 02189 Dear Ms. Deree: I have received the petitions of Gerard Mackin appealing the nonresponse of the Town of Weymouth (Town) to requests for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). In separate requests, Mr. Mackin requested the following records on November 2, 2022: [1] All communications between the Town Clerk and any other person in which my requests in the attached two emails are referred to[;] [2] All applications for the original and any extension of any alcohol related licenses on the subject premises[;] [3] All documents upon which the licensing board based all of its decisions regarding such licenses[;] [4] All documents referring to action taken by [named individual] regarding the issue raised in my attached email[.] Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Mackin petitioned this office and the following appeals, SPR22/2687 and SPR22/2688, were opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Town provided a response on November 22, 2022, to Mr. Mackin. Where these appeals were opened as a result of the Town’s lack of a written response, I will consider these administrative appeals closed. Mr. Mackin has appealed the Town’s response and this office is currently in the process of opening a new appeal.
