The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records December 8, 2022 SPR22/2707 Marissa Cameron Records Access Officer Chelmsford Police Department 3 Olde North Road Chelmsford, MA 01824 Dear Ms. Cameron I have received the petition of Stanley Mazurczyk appealing the response of the Chelmsford Police Department (Department) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, §10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On November 11, 2022, Mr. Mazurczyk requested clarification on a July 2021 Verizon invoice including employment status of a named person and reason for redaction of records. The Department responded on November 22, 2022. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Mazurczyk petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2707, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division senior attorney and a Department representative, it is my understanding that the Department intends on providing a further response to Mr. Mazurczyk. Accordingly, the Department is ordered to provide Mr. Mazurczyk with said response in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Mazurczyk may appeal the substantive nature of the Department’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
