The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records December 12, 2022 SPR22/2725 Tammy Kraus Superintendent Bureau of the State House 24 Beacon Street, Room 1 Boston, MA 02133 Dear Superintendent Kraus: I have received the petition of Jason Connors appealing the response of the Bureau of the State House (Bureau) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On June 30, 2022, Mr. Connors requested, “… surveillance videos from an incident that took place on June 11th, 2022 in room 5 of the Massachusetts Statehouse … [and] inside floor 1 hallway that leads from elevators 5 and 6 to door 14.” Previous appeal This request was the subject of a previous appeal. See SPR22/1907 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (August 25, 2022). The Bureau responded on September 9, 2022. Unsatisfied with the response, Mr. Connors petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2725, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division senior attorney and a Bureau representative, it is my understanding that the Bureau intends on providing a further response to Mr. Connors. Accordingly, the Bureau is ordered to provide Mr. Connors with said response in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Connors may appeal the substantive nature of Bureau’s response within ninety days.
