The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records January 4, 2023 SPR22/2889 Dori Vecchio Town Administrator Town of Blackstone 15 St. Paul Street Blackstone, MA 01504 Dear Ms. Vecchio: I have received the petition of Thomas Greene appealing the response of the Town of Blackstone (Town) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 2, 2022, Mr. Greene requested the background investigation report of [a named person]. The Town responded on December 15, 2022. Unsatisfied with the Town’s response, Mr. Greene appealed, and this case, SPR22/2889 was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division senior attorney and a representative of the Town, it is my understanding that the Town intends on providing a further response to Mr. Greene. Accordingly, the Town is ordered to provide Mr. Greene with said response in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Greene may appeal the substantive nature of the Town’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Thomas Greene One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
