The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records January 10, 2023 SPR22/2950 Superintendent Tammy Kraus Bureau of the State House 24 Beacon Street, Room 1 Boston, MA 02133 Dear Superintendent Kraus: I have received the petition of Debbie Gallagher appealing the nonresponse of the Bureau of the State House (Bureau) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On September 29, 2022, Ms. Gallagher requested numerous documents regarding the hiring process for the position of Emergency Preparedness Manager at the Massachusetts State House. Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Ms. Gallagher petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR22/2950, was opened as a result. Despite being notified of the opening of this appeal, it remains unclear whether the Bureau has provided a response. Accordingly, the Bureau is ordered to provide Ms. Gallagher with a response to her request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Gallagher may appeal the substantive nature of the Bureau’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
