The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records February 2, 2023 SPR23/0101 Andrew Doherty, Esq. Assistant District Attorney Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office One Bulfinch Place Boston, MA 02114 Dear Attorney Doherty: I have received the petition of Jonathan Cohn appealing the nonresponse of the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office (Office) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On December 9, 2022, Mr. Cohn requested correspondence between the DA’s office and named Boston Globe reporters between June 1, 2022 and September 2, 2022. Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Cohn petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0101, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Office provided a response to Mr. Cohn on January 23, 2023. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the Office’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Cohn may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s January 23rd response within 90 days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Jonathan Cohn One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832• Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
