The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records February 7, 2023 SPR23/0145 Parry Graham Public Records Access Officer Wayland Public Schools 41 Cochituate Road Wayland, MA 01778 Dear Mr. Graham: I have received the petition of Kim Reichelt appealing the response of the Wayland Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On November 11, 2022, Ms. Reichelt requested records related to notes used in a School Committee meeting. Prior Appeal The requested records were the subject of a prior appeal. See SPR22/2782 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (December 16, 2022). In my December 16th determination, I closed the appeal after the School notified this office that it would provide a further response. On January 23, 2023, the School responded. Unsatisfied with the School’s response, Ms. Reichelt petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0145, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division staff attorney and a School representative, it is my understanding that the School intends on providing a subsequent response to Ms. Reichelt. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide Ms. Reichelt with a response to her request in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Ms. Reichelt may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
