The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records March 3, 2023 SPR23/0316 Carol Jacobs Superintendent Georgetown Public Schools 51 North Street Georgetown, MA 01833 Dear Superintendent Jacobs: I have received the petition of Kevin Wood appealing the response of the Georgetown Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On January 27, 2023, Mr. Wood requested the following information for named persons: 1. Academic/Administrator Professional Development Plans and amendments, if any; 2. Supervisor approval[s] of Professional Development Plans and amendments, if any; 3. Activity logs of professional development including, but not limited to Professional Development Points and supporting records attributed to Professional Development Plan progress and license maintenance. The School responded on February 7, 2023. Unsatisfied with the School’s response, Mr. Wood petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0316, was opened as a result. Based upon a conversation between a Public Records Division senior attorney and a School representative, it is my understanding that the School intends on providing a further response to Mr. Wood. Accordingly, the School is ordered to provide Mr. Wood with said response in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law, and its Regulations within 10 business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Wood may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
