Box 1410 Springfield, MA 01103-1410 Dear Attorney Phelps: I have received the petition of Attorney Maryanne Stanganelli, of Insider Inc., appealing the response of the Springfield Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On August 29, 2022, Attorney Stanganelli requested the following records: [1] All separation agreements and settlements reached with current and former teachers who taught in the district between January 1, 2017 through the day this request is fulfilled. [2] All public records relating to any and all claims of misconduct against current and former teachers who taught in the district between January 1, 2017 through the day this request is fulfilled. Prior Appeal This request was the subject of a previous appeal. See SPR22/2943 Determination of the Supervisor of Records (January 5, 2023). The School responded on January 19, 2023. Unsatisfied with the response, Attorney Stanganelli petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0660, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the School provided a further response to Attorney Stanganelli on April 13, 2023. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the School’s January 19, 2023 response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Attorney Stanganelli may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s April 13th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
