Director of Public Records Records Access Officer City of Boston 1 City Hall Square, Room 615 Boston, MA 02201 Dear Attorney Williams: I have received the petition of Alex Brown appealing the nonresponse of the City of Boston (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 14, 2023, Mr. Brown requested “…any internal investigation reports (internal affairs division investigations) and findings related to [a named] Boston Police Sergeant ...” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Brown petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0731, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the City provided a response to Mr. Brown on April 15, 2023. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s lack of a written response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Brown may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s April 15th response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
