Record Access Officer Office of the General Counsel Massachusetts Department of Transportation Registry of Motor Vehicles 10 Park Plaza, Suite 3510 Boston, MA 02116 Dear Attorney Doyle: I have received the petition of George Steele-Perkins appealing the nonresponse of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation – Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On February 17, 2023, Mr. Steele-Perkins requested “…any and all documents concerning vehicle registration by the referenced homestead dated since January 2017…” Claiming to not yet have received a response, Mr. Steele-Perkins petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0774, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that a representative from the RMV intends on providing a written response to Mr. Steele-Perkins. Accordingly, the RMV is ordered to provide Mr. Steele- Perkins with said response in accordance with the Public Records Law, its Regulations and this order within ten business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Steele-Perkins may appeal the substantive nature of the RMV’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
