Records Access Officer Executive Office of Public Safety and Security One Ashburton Place Boston, MA 02108 Dear Attorney Mullaney: I have received the petition of George Steers appealing the nonresponse of the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security (Office) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 24, 2023, Mr. Steers requested, “[a]ll State Grant Applications Filed By Pepperell Police Dispatch, Pepperell Communications Center and/or Patriot Regional Emergency Communications Center for Fiscal Years 2018, 2019, 2020 & 2021.” Claiming to not yet have received responsive records, Mr. Steers petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0941, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the Office intends on providing a written response to Mr. Steers. Accordingly, the Office is ordered to provide Mr. Steers with a response to his request, provided in a manner consistent with this order, the Public Records Law and its Regulations within ten (10) business days. A copy of any such response must be provided to this office. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of this response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. Mr. Steers may appeal the substantive nature of the Office’s response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
