The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records May 18, 2023 SPR23/0966 Thomas R. Raab, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools Stoughton Public Schools 31 Pierce Street Stoughton, MA 02072 Dear Dr. Raab: I have received the petition of Mary Kate McGowan appealing the response of the Stoughton Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On March 6, 2023, Ms. McGowan requested, “…Stoughton's policies and procedures for special education…” On March 6, 2023, the School responded. Unsatisfied with the School’s response, Ms. McGowan petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/0966, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the School responded to Ms. McGowan’s request with a further response sent on May 18, 2023. Where the basis of this appeal was opened as a result of the School’s March 6th response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Ms. McGowan may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). Sincerely, Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records cc: Mary Kate McGowan Carolan Sampson One Ashburton Place, Room 1719, Boston, Massachusetts 02108 • (617) 727-2832 • Fax: (617) 727-5914 sec.state.ma.us/pre • pre@sec.state.ma.us
