Senos City Clerk City of Gloucester 9 Dale Avenue Gloucester, MA 01930 Dear Ms. Senos: I have received the petition of Jeff Brown appealing the response of the City of Gloucester (City) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 15, 2023, Mr. Brown requested “a copy of the memo(s) or letter(s) that [a named individual] gave (or sent) to [another named individual] regarding the compost pile in Dogtown. This document was mentioned in DPC meetings.” On May 31, 2023, the City responded. Unsatisfied with the City’s response, Mr. Brown petitioned this office and this appeal, SPR23/1145, was opened as a result. Subsequently, I learned that the City provided a further response dated June 1, 2023, to Mr. Brown. Where this appeal was opened as a result of the City’s May 31st response, I will now consider this administrative appeal closed. Mr. Brown may appeal the substantive nature of the City’s June 1st response within ninety (90) days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
