The Commonwealth of Massachusetts William Francis Galvin, Secretary of the Commonwealth Public Records Division Manza Arthur Supervisor of Records June 29, 2023 SPR23/1303 Scott E. Knief Superintendent Carver Public Schools 3 Carver Boulevard Carver, MA 02330 Dear Superintendent Knief: I have received the petition of Peter Allegrini appealing the response of the Carver Public Schools (School) to a request for public records. See G. L. c. 66, § 10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1). On May 31, 2023, Mr. Allegrini requested the following: [T]he time and date each of the Policy Subcommittees minutes final published minutes were created and by who? [His] Request is for a print out or electronic message from the computer/ program showing when the documents were created and by who. The request is for the following subcommittee meetings. Policy Subcommittee 8/8/2022 10/20/2022 12/01/2022 2/16/2023 The School responded on June 13, 2023, claiming that it “does not hold any record responsive to [Mr. Allegrini’s] request.” Unsatisfied with the School’s response, Mr. Allegrini appealed, and this case was opened as a result. Based on a telephone conversation between this office and an attorney for the School on June 26, 2023, I understand that the School intends to provide a supplemental response to Mr. Allegrini. Accordingly, said response must be provided in a manner consistent with the Public Records Law and its regulations within ten business days. It is preferable to send an electronic copy of the response to this office at pre@sec.state.ma.us. If issues remain unresolved, Mr. Allegrini may appeal the substantive nature of the School’s supplemental response within ninety days. See 950 C.M.R. 32.08(1).
